When you look at some of what has been going on in our domestic economy, it makes sense that there is a lot of hope for Domestic Equity Funds. The most obvious signs is that we have seen some pretty hefty increases to dividends. Microsoft recently increased its dividend by 23%. General Electric, after reporting its first quarterly profit in years, also committed to boosting its dividend. And leading company, Cisco, said it would targer a 1% to 2% dividend yield for its stock in the coming year. These are signs that companies are generating sufficient cash to allow them to do this. And this gives our domestic equity funds some good hope for earning valuable returns for its investors.
